Soulful Album Reflects a Deep-Seated Sense of Gratitude

Washington, D.C. – [2025] –  Our roots will always be a part of who we are. In Afro-pop soul singer-songwriter TolumiDE’s upcoming album, she embraces her West African heritage with thoughtful lyrics about beautiful friendships, survival, joy, and love. Set to release on February 7, 2025, exclusively on Bandcamp, TolumiDE’s 15-track album, Suya Soul, is a compilation of inspirational songs that each reflect a deep-seated sense of gratitude.

“I’m growing and learning more about myself and the joys and pains of being an adult with more responsibilities, more relationships, experiences, and more golden moments,” TolumiDE shares. “I’m grateful to God for the experiences and the heart to keep moving and keep looking forward to brighter days when cloudy moments arise.”

ABOUT TOLUMIDE

Renowned Nigerian singer-songwriter TolumiDE celebrates two decades of musical brilliance as she gears up to unveil her fourth studio album, Suya Soul, on her label 1FT Music. From roots in Lagos, Nigeria, to experiences in Toronto, Canada, TolumiDE’s solo career has solidified her as a prominent figure in global music.

Described as “a big blend of Afro-pop, funky reggae, neo-soul, and jazz injecting her African heritage using bilingual lyrics into a friendlier foundation of melodic pop and R&B balladry.” Currently, she is serving as a Governor with the Recording Academy of the DC Chapter, as well as an Executive member of Afropolitan Youth, a non-profit organization that is the host of FestAfrica.

Her accolades include winning the Best R&B Female Artist at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards, opening for Les Nubians at the Howard Theatre, opening for Salif Keita, and singing with Toby Foyeh and Africa Orchestra at the Toronto Jazz Festival. In addition, she has had the opportunity to headline shows at the Legendary Blues Alley and Carlyle Room in Washington, D.C.

No matter how audiences experience her music, TolumiDE wants them to feel enlightened by African culture, “to feel good, happy, and motivated when they are feeling low and hyped when they are feeling happy.”
