TolumiDE (“toe-lu-me-day”) was created from her name Tolu Olumide, which means “Thank you God” in her native language Yoruba from Nigeria. She is a dynamic performer of Nigerian-Canadian descent currently based in Maryland/DC. As the recipient of 2006 NEA (Nigeria Entertainment Award) for Best Female R&B Artist, her voice carries a sense of new possibilities. Her songwriting and composing skills reflect her conscious and poetic spirit and her music brings a range of soulful sounds for both youth and adult audiences.
